This page has information on specific projects local to Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead.
The CCG is aware of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead’s Local Borough Plan, that includes a proposal for housing on part of the existing hospital sites at King Edward VII and St Marks Hospitals.
We understand how important King Edward VII and St Marks Hospitals are for our local community, and we would like to reassure local people that the hospitals will continue to provide clinical services from their current locations.
The CCG is however hoping to secure national funding to upgrade the hospital sites, and part of these plans may include releasing older buildings on the site that cannot support modern healthcare. Funding for what would be significant investment has not been secured at this time, and no agreement has been made to sell or upgrade either of the two hospital sites.
Should funding be secured and plans go ahead for the CCG to release older buildings at either hospital, the intention would be to inject the money back into the existing hospital sites, to ensure King Edward VII Hospital and St Marks Hospital can provide services in buildings that are fit for the future. Amongst other things, the upgraded sites could enable closer working between health and social care, as we know this is important for our residents.
We will continue to work closely with the local authority and partners such as HealthWatch.
