Think Self Care for Life!

Self Care Week 2019 takes place between Monday 18 and Sunday 24 November this year.

In support of this, we will be running a series of events locally and have launched this toolkit which we hope you will find useful.

Self Care Week is a great opportunity for us all to invest in our health, if we don’t already, by making small changes that can make a big difference for life!

Empowering ourselves to take better care has many benefits both short-term and long-term, especially as we know that people are living longer.

Here in East Berkshire, we have joined forces with  key partners and local GPs to support this year's 'Self Care Week' which is themed 'Think Self Care for Life'.

Our aim is to raise awareness that focuses on embedding support for self care across communities, families and generations.

In addition to supporting the annual national awareness campaign’s key messages, we will be focusing our efforts on five key areas of self care which, if followed, can have a positive impact on individuals’ health. The areas are as follows:

  • Blood Pressure
  • Hydration
  • Flu vaccination
  • Self-Management Courses
  • Mental Health and Loneliness
